January 31st, 2013

Yesterday was a pretty fun class, who doesn't enjoy color coding maps with interestingly named crayons? I will back up a few steps though so you can understand how this map coloring came to be. We were handed these worksheets with the plans of Reconstruction, onto which we filled in information from our handy dandy textbooks of the three different plans. One of these plans was of the Radical Republicans, who would divide up the South and put it under various military rule. This military ruling was what we got to color code on the map on the back of the page. It was pretty fun! Today was less of a colorful adventure through history. We were handed a packet of the obituary of Andrew Jackson, which was jam packed full of information. This we read for most of the class than had a bit of a discussion afterwards after we were all finished reading. And that was history!
